Sisačko-moslavačka županija zauzima  područje prisavske nizine s kompleksnim i raznolikim rubnim pojasom.

U sjeverozapadnom dijelu nalaze se dolina rijeke Kupe i obronci Vukomeričkih gorica.

Zapadni i južni brdoviti dio županije, Banovina,  podijeljen je plitkim riječnim dolinama, omeđen rijekom Unom (prirodna granica prema Republici Bosni i Hercegovini), te planinskim prostorom Zrinske gore (616 m) i Petrove gore (512 m). Središnji nizinski, najveći i najnaseljeniji dio oko rijeke Save, pokriva i prostor Parka prirode Lonjsko polje.

Istočni dio Županije završava južnim padinama Moslavačke gore (489 m) i Psunja, a krajnji jugoistočni dio pripada području zapadne Slavonije.

Najveći dio Županije ima toplu, umjereno kišnu klimu s tim  da predjeli sjeverno od poteza Topusko - Zrin pripadaju klimatskom tipu s izrazito kontinentalnim  odlikama podneblja, dok dijelovi južno od navedenog poteza imaju neke odlike maritimne klime. Podneblje cijele regije je umjereno humidno s izrazitim, ali ne vrlo dugim, hladnim razdobljem godine.

 There are the Kupa river plains and slopes of mountain Vukomeričke Gorice in the northwest part of the county. The southwest part of the county is called Banovina and it is divided by shallow river plains, and bordered by the river Una (natural border with Bosnia and Herzegovina) and by the mountain area with mountains Zrinska Gora (616 m) and Petrova Gora (512 m). Central part of the county make plains of the Sava: this is the most densely inhabited part of the county and it covers the area of the Nature Park Lonjsko Polje, also. The eastern part of the county ends with southern mountain slopes of Moslavačka Gora (489 m) and Psunj, and the southeast end of the county geographically belongs to the West Slavonia area.

The largest part of the county has a hot, moderately rainy climate, and the area north of the line Topusko-Zrin has a climate with distinctive continental characteristics, while the area south from that line has some characteristics of the maritime climate. Climate of the whole area is moderately humid with an extremely cold part of the year that does not last for very long.

Sisak-Moslavina Gespanschaft befindet sich in der Saveebene mit einer komplexen und verschiedenartigen Umgebung.

Im nordwestlichen Teil befindet sich die Kupaebene und die Hügel von Vukomeričke gorice.Der westliche und südliche Teil der Gespanschaft, Banovina,  ist mit kleineren Fluβebenen durchquert und mit dem Fluβ Una begrenzt (natürliche Grenze zur Republik Bosnien und Hercegowina), weiterhin kommt der hügelige Teil von Zrinska gora (616 m) und Petrova gora (512 m). Das mittlere Flachland ist zugleich der gröβte und am meisten bewohnte Teil um den Fluβ Save, es umschlieβt auch den Naturpark Lonjsko polje. Der östliche Teil der Gespanschaft endet an den Hügeln von Moslavačka gora (489 m) und Psunj, und der südöstliche Randgebiet gehört schon zum Gebiet von Westslawonien.

Der gröβte Teil der Gespanschaft hat warmes, mittelmäβig regnerisches Klima, doch die Gebiete nördlich von Topusko - Zrin gehören schon zu einem ausdrücklich kontinentalen Klima , während die südlichen Gebiete die Charakteristik eines maritimen Klimas zeigen.Die ganze Region zeigt keine sehr langen und kalten Perioden im Jahr.
